Martin EB-57B Canberra
The museum's
B-57B began life as a "D" model bomber and was delivered to
the Air Force on March 29, 1955. After storage at the "boneyard"
at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, from 1969-1972, it was converted in 1973 to an
EB-57B for an Electronic Counter-Measures (ECM) role. In Dec 1981 it
made the final flight to the museum at March AFB after 7,727.5 flight
hours.
The Vermont ANG 134th FS / 158th FG 'Green Mountain Boys' have operated
an interesting selection of aircraft over the last 40 years. They flew
the intercept mission using F-102 Delta Daggers, then traded these in
for the EB-57B and adopted the defence systems evaluation role in 1974.
